ServWorx is a new generation company established to provide an integrated service solution.  
The ServWorx model represents a paradigm shift that cuts the cost of complexity and offers an uncluttered, compact and full service solution. We aim to set a new benchmark in innovation, delivery and quality standards in support services.  

Our approach is hi-tech, innovative and cost effective. We recognise that each client has unique needs and that one size does not fit all and we will therefore provide you with a customized solution. Our aim is to become a seamless extension of your company.
One of our founding philosophies is to be environmentally sensitive and this is reflected in our wash technology, fabric selection and our range of detergent and chemical products.

There are four distinct operating divisions within ServWorx. These are:

The ServWorx management team has extensive individual experience in the laundry, dry cleaning and garment rental market. Prior to establishing ServWorx , the team members have been involved in constructing and operating more than 35 individual laundry and garment rental sites of varying sizes, with a combined daily tonnage exceeding 200 tons.

ServWorx has just completed the acquisition of Volans Master Cleaners, a specialist dry cleaning and laundry company which has been in existence since 1923 and was the oldest dry cleaning and laundering service in South Africa.

The Servworx team has kept abreast of leading technological advances in the industry and significant product innovation give ServWorx a leading edge. This gives ServWorx a significant competitive advantage over its rivals through increased efficiencies.

Board of Directors:

Luke Volans, Managing Director
Luke was the Managing Director of Volans Master Cleaners (VMC) until 1999 when he left to join the diversified services group Bidvest as part of the sale agreement of the laundry portion of VMC to First Garment Rental (FGR), a company with in the Bidvest group. He was with Bidvest for seven years and became Group Operations Director of FGR and finally the Managing Director of Boston Laundries. In that time he was a leading part of the team which has built South Africa’s largest and most profitable laundry company.  Luke was responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and running of the major facilities and was also responsible for appointing and training the senior managers. In 2004 Luke was awarded the Chairman’s Award for Bidserv - a division of Bidvest - by Brian Joffe, Chairman of Bidvest. Luke left Bidvest in 2007 to pursue business interests in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and the United Arab Emirates. He has been instrumental in the establishment of ServWorx and in October 2008 planned his reentry into the South African market with the formation of ServWorx South Africa.

Peter Papas, Director:
Peter Papas is a Chartered Accountant who has considerable experience in providing corporate finance advice to South African and international corporations. He was a senior manager of corporate finance at Fleming Martin SA Limited (now JP Morgan South Africa) until his appointment as a director and head of Corporate Finance at ING Barings Southern Africa (Proprietary) Limited. He created the foundations for the formation of Aquila Growth Limited (“Aquila”) in 1995; through the MBO of the Toy’s “R” Us retail business in South Africa. In 1997 he left ING Barings to become Managing Director of Aquila and floated Aquila on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (“JSE”) in Dec 1997. Aquila was successfully wound up in January 2005 and boasts the distinction of being the most successful private equity fund to list on the JSE. Peter then decided to pursue his own career advising local and international corporations in mergers & acquisitions and private equity related transactions totaling approximately US$500m. Peter pursued this career successfully until 1 March 2007, when he assumed the role of Group Chief Executive Officer of Millennium & Copthorne Hotel PLC (“M&C”). M&C is a FTSE 250 company with a market capitalization of approximately £2bn. Peter resigned from M&C in August 2007.

Peter served as a Non-Executive Director on all of Aquila's investee companies and has been a director of companies including Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee’s of Peermont Global Limited. He brings extensive experience of deal origination, negotiation, structuring and management of local and international corporations.

Simon Volans, Operations Director: GarmentWorx:
Simon read for a BSc in Chemistry and completed a BSc (Hons) in Hydrology at the University of Natal.  He is the current Chief Executive of Volans Master Cleaners. Simon has been Managing Director for the past six years and has diversified the business with the establishment of a garment rental division, Volans GarmentRent. Together with the in-house chemist, Simon has also been involved in developing a range of high quality hygiene and chemical products which will service the ServWorx divisions. They have kept abreast of leading technological advances in the industry and these products will form the backbone of the CleanWorx range.
